Raphinha’s Hat-Trick Sends Barcelona to a 3-1 Win at Sevilla

Barcelona defeated Sevilla 3-1 at Estadio Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán on Saturday, with Raphinha’s second-half hat-trick securing the victory after a 1-1 half-time score. The result extended Barcelona’s perfect league start and ended Sevilla’s latest winning run.

Fast exchange before Barcelona took control

Sevilla struck first in the 19th minute. Youssouf Fofana finished a move created by Felix Correia, giving the home side an early lead. Barcelona responded only three minutes later, when Raphael Dias Belloli converted with Andreas Christensen providing the assist. The teams went into the interval level, but the balance of play shifted firmly toward Barcelona after the restart.

Raphael Dias Belloli scored again in the 52nd minute, this time assisted by Lamine Yamal. Yamal supplied the decisive pass once more in the 69th minute, allowing Belloli to complete his hat-trick and put Barcelona two goals clear. Sevilla made changes around that period, sending on José Ángel Carmona and Isaac Romero, while Barcelona introduced Gerard Martín and later Daniel Olmo Carvajal and Karim Adeyemi. The substitutions did not alter the result.

Barcelona’s control showed in the numbers

Barcelona dominated possession with 70 per cent and completed 581 accurate passes from 642 attempts. Sevilla recorded 203 accurate passes from 278. The visitors also produced 24 shots to Sevilla’s seven, including 12 efforts from inside the box compared with three for the hosts. Barcelona registered seven shots on goal and Sevilla three, while Sevilla goalkeeper saves totalled five against two for Barcelona.

Those figures support a second half in which Barcelona created more pressure and chances, although Sevilla’s early goal briefly gave the scoreline a different shape from the statistical balance. Barcelona also had three corners to Sevilla’s one and committed 11 fouls to Sevilla’s 10. There were no red cards. Lucien Agoumé was the only player booked, receiving a yellow card in the 80th minute.

Three points strengthen Barcelona’s start

Raphinha was the standout performer, receiving a 9.6 rating after scoring three goals in 77 minutes and placing all three of his recorded shots on target. Yamal also made a major contribution with two assists and five key passes, while Pedri recorded four key passes.

Barcelona began the round first with 18 points from six matches and now add a seventh consecutive league win, taking their total to 21 points. Sevilla entered fifth with 13 points from six games and do not add to that tally after the defeat. Their pre-match sequence of two wins, one loss, one draw and two wins is followed by another loss.
