Bahia take control early

Bahia defeated Remo 2-1 at Arena Fonte Nova in Serie A’s 27th regular-season round, securing the win after leading 1-0 at half-time. The result came on Monday, September 14, with Rogério Ceni’s Bahia using a 4-3-3 against Leonardo Condé’s 3-4-3.

The opening goal arrived in the 20th minute. Cristian Olivera supplied the assist for Jean Lucas, who finished to put Bahia ahead. Marcelo Rangel kept Remo in the contest with seven saves, compared with two saves for Bahia’s goalkeeper. Bahia also won the corner count 7-6.

Result strengthens Bahia’s position

Jean Lucas was the standout performer, receiving an 8.1 rating after playing 79 minutes, scoring once and supplying two key passes. Olivera also made a notable contribution with an assist, two shots on target and three key passes.

The win gives Bahia 46 points from 27 matches, following a table position of fifth with 43 points from 26 games. Remo move on with 23 points from 27 matches after entering the round 19th on 23 points from 26. Bahia’s latest result adds another win to their recent sequence, while Remo follow a defeat in their most recent listed form.
