New England Revolution defeated Orlando City SC 4-2 at Gillette Stadium on Saturday, September 19, securing a second-half surge after leading 1-0 at half-time. The result lifted New England to 46 points from 26 games, while Orlando remained on 34 points after its 12th defeat of the regular season.

Gil opens the scoring before the break

New England controlled the early stages and moved ahead in the 19th minute. Carles Gil finished a move assisted by J. Yueill, giving the hosts a narrow advantage at the interval. The Revolution also collected the first booking, with Brooklyn Raines cautioned in the 14th minute.

W. Sands received a yellow card two minutes after the restart, but New England soon extended its lead. Peyton Miller scored in the 59th minute, putting the hosts 2-0 ahead and adding to a performance that would become decisive.

Orlando responds, but New England finishes strongly

Orlando reduced the deficit just three minutes later when I. Angulo scored. Martín Ojeda then converted a penalty in the 88th minute, bringing Orlando within one goal and creating a late opening for an equaliser.

New England closed the match with two goals in stoppage time. Miller scored again in the 90th minute, completing his brace, before Gil added his second goal with an assist from D. Turgeman. The Revolution therefore turned a one-goal margin into a 4-2 final score in the closing moments.

I. Feingold was booked in the 80th minute and P. Miller received a yellow card after his second goal. Orlando made three changes by the 77th minute, while New England introduced Feingold and D. Fagundez during the second half.

Gil was the standout performer, earning a 9.7 rating after scoring twice, registering three shots on target and creating four key passes. Miller followed with a 9.3 rating and two goals. New England’s victory changed its most recent result from a loss to a win, while Orlando’s latest loss extended a difficult run that began with three defeats in its previous four matches.
