Gatti’s 90th-minute goal earns Juventus a 1-1 draw with AC Milan

Juventus and AC Milan drew 1-1 at Allianz Stadium in Serie A on Sunday, September 6, with both sides scoring once in the final stages. Alphadjo Cissè put Milan ahead in the 68th minute, but Federico Gatti equalised for Juventus in the 90th minute to secure a share of the points.

Late goals decide an even contest

The match was closely balanced in possession, with AC Milan holding 51% compared with Juventus’s 49%. Milan also completed more accurate passes, 412 to 381, and had 479 total passes against Juventus’s 453. However, those figures did not translate into a greater attacking threat. Juventus registered 14 shots, including six from inside the box, while Milan managed only three attempts and one shot from inside the area.

Juventus also recorded five shots on goal to Milan’s one and forced four saves from Mike Maignan. The home side’s seven corner kicks compared with Milan’s one further reflected its greater pressure in the attacking areas, even though the scoreline remained level until the closing minutes.

Cissè breaks the deadlock, Gatti responds

Milan took the lead in the 68th minute after Samuel Chukwueze provided the assist for Cissè, who scored a normal goal. Cissè had entered the match in the 61st minute, and his contribution gave Milan an advantage despite Juventus having generated more of the opportunities.

Juventus’s response arrived at the other end of the match. Teun Koopmeiners assisted Gatti for the equaliser in the 90th minute. Gatti’s goal came shortly before the final whistle and completed a notable individual performance: he was rated 8.1, scored once and recorded one shot on target. He was also booked in the same minute as his goal.

Discipline and result impact

Milan collected two recorded yellow cards, for Pervis Estupinan in the 79th minute and Koni De Winter in the 90th, while Cissè was also booked in stoppage time. Juventus had no yellow cards in the match statistics, although Gatti’s event entry records his late caution. Neither team received a red card.

The draw ended winning starts for both teams. Juventus and Milan entered the match with two wins from two games, six points and identical goal differences of three. Each now adds one point from the third round, moving to seven points while remaining unbeaten. Juventus used a 4-2-3-1 under L. Spalletti, while Milan lined up in a 3-4-2-1 coached by Ruben Amorim.
