Four Shots on Target Deliver Sunderland’s 1-0 Win

Sunderland defeated Fulham 1-0 at the Stadium of Light on Sunday, August 30, securing the win with W. Isidor’s 75th-minute goal. The result gave Sunderland victory in Premier League Regular Season - Round 2, while Fulham suffered another loss after both teams entered the match following defeats in their most recent form.

Isidor settles a closely contested match

The visitors had four corners to Sunderland’s three, but that territorial advantage did not translate into a goal. Both teams were caught offside once.

Xhaka leads Sunderland’s performance

Granit Xhaka was the standout performer, receiving the highest match rating of 8.3. He completed 94 minutes and supplied four key passes as Sunderland converted their pressure into the only goal. Nordi Mukiele was also highly rated at 7.9 after 94 minutes and two tackles.
