Alex Arce double lifts Independ. Rivadavia to a 4-3 win

Independ. Rivadavia defeated Aldosivi 4-3 at Estadio Juan Bautista Gargantini, securing the win after leading 3-1 at half-time. The result moved Independ. Rivadavia from 11 points after eight Clausura matches to 14 after nine, while Aldosivi stayed on five points following its fifth defeat of the campaign.

Fast start sets the tone

Independ. Rivadavia struck after 10 minutes when Gonzalo Rios converted Alex Arce’s assist. Aldosivi responded three minutes later through Tomás Fernández, who finished from Nicolás Gaitán’s pass. The hosts regained the lead in the 19th minute, with Jose Ignacio Florentin scoring after Rios supplied the assist.

The decisive first-half moment came at 45 minutes. Arce converted a penalty to give Independ. Rivadavia a two-goal advantage at the interval. The hosts’ 4-3-1-2 setup under A. Aldosivi kept the pressure on

Joaquín Pombo Streinberger scored for Aldosivi in the 90th minute, but the late goal did not produce an equaliser. Substitutions shaped the closing stages, including Aldosivi’s changes involving Mateo Sebastián Vales, Felipe Anso, Nicolás Cordero and Elías López, as well as Independ. Rivadavia’s introductions of Matías Fernández and Luis Sequeira.

Shot count favours the visitors

The scoreline did not reflect Aldosivi’s greater volume of attempts. The visitors registered 25 shots to Independ. Rivadavia’s 15, including 15 from inside the box compared with eight for the hosts. Aldosivi also had seven corners to two and nine shots on goal to eight. Independ. Rivadavia, however, held 54% possession and completed 308 accurate passes from 396 total, compared with Aldosivi’s 225 accurate passes from 324.

The hosts were more efficient in front of goal, while Aldosivi’s 13 shots off target limited the reward from its attacking output. Goalkeepers made six saves for Independ. Rivadavia and four for Aldosivi.

Arce leads the ratings

Arce was the standout performer, earning an 8.9 rating across 90 minutes. He scored twice, assisted Rios for the opening goal, recorded two shots on target and supplied two key passes. Fernández was Aldosivi’s leading contributor with a goal, an assist and three shots on target.

Discipline remained controlled despite the open scoreline. Martín García and Nicolás Cordero were booked for Aldosivi, while Maximiliano Salas, Diego Crego and Arce received yellow cards for Independ. Rivadavia. Neither team was shown a red card.
