Racing Santander turn the table upside down

Racing Santander produced the round’s biggest surprise by defeating sixth-placed Alaves 2-1. Ville Koski opened the scoring in the 18th minute before Yassir Zabiri struck twice, in the 38th and 53rd minutes. The result lifts the focus onto Alaves, who remain on 11 points, while Racing claimed a notable result against a side positioned nine places higher before the round.

Barcelona keep perfect record

Barcelona maintained their outstanding start with a 4-2 victory at Levante. Xavi Espart put Levante ahead after five minutes, but Lamine Yamal answered in the 19th minute and converted a penalty shortly after half-time. Iván Romero added Barcelona’s third in the 79th minute, Roger Brugué reduced the deficit in the 88th, and Karim Adeyemi completed the scoring in the 90th.

Barcelona now lead the standings with 21 points from seven wins, seven points clear of Atletico Madrid and Real Betis. Their goal difference is 24, the strongest among the listed leading sides. Yamal’s two goals also made him one of four players to score twice during the round.

Real Madrid answer with four goals

Real Madrid beat Rayo Vallecano 4-1, with Kylian Mbappé scoring twice. He opened from the penalty spot in the 14th minute and struck again in the 90th. Álvaro Fernández Carreras scored three minutes after the first penalty, while Jude Bellingham made it 3-0 in the 35th. Sergio Camello scored for Rayo in the 51st minute.

Pressure grows at the bottom

Espanyol beat Osasuna 2-0 through two early goals from Roberto Fernández Jaén, who scored in the third and 17th minutes. His brace placed him alongside Yamal, Mbappé and Zabiri as the round’s leading scorers.

The standings remain tight near the relegation places. Elche are 18th on five points, Valencia are 19th on four, and Malaga are bottom on three after their draw. Malaga have no wins from seven matches, while Valencia have one win and Elche have one. Across 10 matches, the round produced 29 goals, with the results reshaping both the leading group and the fight to move away from the bottom three.
