0-0 Draw Gives FC Dallas and Austin One Point Each

FC Dallas and Austin finished level at 0-0 in Major League Soccer’s Regular Season - 26 at Toyota Stadium. The draw gave both Western Conference teams a point, but neither found the breakthrough after 95 minutes.

Few clear chances in scoreless contest

FC Dallas produced the stronger attacking numbers without turning that advantage into a goal. The hosts registered 11 total shots to Austin’s eight, including six attempts from inside the box compared with three for Austin. Dallas also led 8-5 on corner kicks and recorded four blocked shots to Austin’s one.

The expected-goals figures pointed in the same direction, with Dallas at 1.11 and Austin at 0.26. However, both teams managed only three shots on goal. Austin had more of the ball, holding 55% possession and completing 452 of 545 passes, while Dallas had 45% possession and completed 356 of 439. The possession edge did not translate into greater threat, and Dallas’s attacking advantage did not produce a winning finish.

Discipline and substitutions shaped the second half

Austin’s M. Desler was booked in the third minute, setting an early disciplinary marker. S. Moore received FC Dallas’s only yellow card in the 35th minute, while Austin’s J. Rosales was cautioned three minutes after the restart. Ramiro was shown a yellow card for Dallas in the 90th minute. There were no goals or sending-offs to change the contest’s balance.

Both coaches used the 64th minute for two substitutions. Austin brought on M. Uzuni for J. Alastuey and B. Vazquez for C. Ramirez, while FC Dallas introduced H. Johansson for R. Binyamin and S. Moreno for C. Cappis. Austin made two further changes in the 72nd minute, with I. Sanchez replacing B. Sabovic and B. Hines-Ike coming on for J. Rosales.

Valiente leads the individual ratings

Joaquín Valiente was the highest-rated outfield player, earning a 7.9 for Dallas across 80 minutes and supplying two key passes. Austin goalkeeper Brad Stuver matched that rating after 95 minutes and made two saves. Daniel also kept Dallas level with three saves, while Osaze Urhoghide added three tackles and received a 7.7 rating.

Dallas entered the match third with 43 points from 25 games, while Austin was 13th with 29 points. Adding a point from the draw takes Dallas to 44 and Austin to 30 after 26 matches. Dallas’s recent form included three wins in its previous five listed results, whereas Austin’s most recent five were a draw, win, two losses and another draw. The result extended neither team’s position into a decisive change, but Dallas gained a point in the upper part of the conference and Austin collected one from the road.
