Liverpool Turn Possession Deficit into 2-1 Champions League Win

Liverpool defeated Atletico Madrid 2-1 at Anfield in the opening UEFA Champions League league-stage round, completing a comeback after trailing at half-time. Atletico lead before Liverpool respond

Szoboszlai leads the ratings

Szoboszlai was the standout performer, earning a match rating of 8.2 after playing all 90 minutes. His equalising goal was complemented by five key passes, one shot on target and two tackles. Llorente was Atletico’s highest-rated player at 7.4, contributing a goal and five tackles, while Álvarez earned 7.5 after supplying an assist and recording three shots on target.
