16 Shots, No Goals as Real Sociedad and Celta Vigo Draw 0-0

Real Sociedad and Celta Vigo drew 0-0 at Anoeta in La Liga’s sixth regular-season round on Thursday, September 3. The result left both sides without a win in the match, despite Real Sociedad producing the greater attacking output in San Sebastian.

Sociedad create more but find no breakthrough

Real Sociedad finished with 51% possession and edged Celta Vigo in accurate passes, 452 to 451, while also recording 527 total passes to Celta’s 521. The home side was more active in front of goal, taking 16 shots compared with seven for the visitors. Sociedad had six shots inside the box, 10 from outside it and eight blocked attempts, while Celta managed three inside the area, four from distance and two blocked shots.

The shot count did not translate into a goal because Celta goalkeeper I. Radu repeatedly denied the hosts. Real Sociedad put five efforts on target and Celta had two, with Radu making five saves. Cards and changes shape the second half

Radu stands out in a scoreless result

I. Radu was the standout performer, earning the match’s highest rating of 8.0 after playing all 90 minutes and making five saves. J. Aramburu also impressed for Sociedad with two key passes and six tackles in a full match, while Remiro’s 7.4 rating reflected his two saves.

The draw leaves Real Sociedad 13th with three points from three matches, following a recent sequence of loss, loss and win. Celta remain 17th with one point from three games after a draw, loss and loss. Both teams added a point, but neither improved its winless record in this meeting.
