Elloumi and Thomas Müller provided the decisive goals as Vancouver’s stronger control of possession and attacking volume eventually told.

Whitecaps Strike Late

Seattle held Vancouver at bay for much of the match, but the visitors broke through in the 77th minute. R. Elloumi opened the scoring with a normal goal assisted by E. Sabbi, giving Vancouver the advantage after a sustained period of pressure.

The Whitecaps then added a second five minutes later. Thomas Müller found the net in the 82nd minute after being set up by Oliver Larraz, turning a narrow contest into a comfortable away win and leaving Seattle without a shot on target to mount a response.

P. Rothrock was also cautioned in the 86th minute, meaning all three yellow cards went to Seattle players. The Sounders committed 15 fouls to Vancouver’s 10, while both teams were called offside twice, but the Whitecaps maintained their discipline and finished without a booking.

Larraz also made a major contribution, supplying the assist for Müller and creating four key passes as Vancouver extended its run of four consecutive wins, while Seattle’s defeat followed six straight losses in its pre-match form.
